Turkey most beautiful mosque blue mosque. Sultan Ahmed Mosque or Masjeed-e-Sultan Ahmed is a historic Mosque. In Turkish Language it is called Sultan Ahmet Camii. It is located in Istanbul the capital of Turkey. Among all popular tourist sites in Turkey, this Mosque gain historic importance. This mosque is popularly known as Blue Mosque because of its blue tiles. This Mosque was constructed between the year 1609 and 1616. This Mosque was built in the rule era of Sultan Ahmed l. Its length is 73m (240 ft) and width is 65m (213 ft).

Each Minaret height is 64m (210 ft). Each dome height outer is 43m (141 ft) and dome diameter (inner) is 23.50m (77.1 ft). The ottoman king built this large mosque to reassert Ottoman empire power. It is said that this is the first imperial mosque for more than forty years .The place where this Mosque is located is a palace of Byzantine emperors and this place is in front of basilica Ayasofya which is also a Mosque and it is said that it is the first imperial Mosque in istanbul after the Blue Mosque.
